Biography
DAVID THIGPEN is an acclaimed, award winning and published playwright and screenwriter. A South Carolina native, David holds a BFA in Media and Performing Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design. His play HOGTIED was developed in New York in conjunction with The Barrow Group Theatre and The Collective NY, where he is a resident writer and company member. In 2016 his play TURTLEFACE was adapted into an award winning film and his last play HURRICANE PARTY completed an extended 2 month run in the Fall of 2018 at The Cherry Lane Theatre. Other plays include SPLIT LEFT; SPLIT RIGHT (co-written with Brock Glor), MARINER MOTEL, IN WAKE OF YESTERDAY and TOMORROW MOURNING which he is currently adapting for film. He is also developing two original psychological adventure series; BRIDGES and LOUJACK. He can be found in Brooklyn.
